Glover James “Jerry” Clanton Jr passed away surrounded by family and friends on 2 January 2025. Jerry was a vibrant, active person who lived life to the fullest and did things his way. He was a licensed pilot for many years accumulating hundreds of hours of logged flight time. He practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, competing and winning numerous matches in international competition. He was an adventurous spirit and was eager to try any activity that was of interest to him. He was an exceptional marksman and enjoyed displaying his shooting abilities to everyone around during his weekly range visits. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a satellite communications specialist, and was extremely proud of his service to this nation. Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, he made friends everywhere he went and will be missed by many.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Glover James “Dub” Clanton Sr and Frances Mattie Rae Williams Clanton and his sisters, Jean Clanton Payne and Jane Clanton St Laurent.
He is survived by his sons, James “Jim” Clanton (Rhonda) and Brian “Culy” Clanton (Meagan), grandchildren Harley and Ricky Clanton, his brother Doug Clanton (Jamie) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the veterans service organization of your choosing.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eastern Shore Cafe in Daphne, AL at 4:00 PM on Thursday the 9th of January 2025 for all who wish to celebrate Jerry and the life he lived to the fullest.
