Lt. Harold Arthur Poling, Retired US Navy, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Faulkner, Mississippi, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on January 5, 1932, in Niles, Ohio, Bob was the cherished only son of Earl and Marguerite Poling.

At the age of 17, Bob embarked on a distinguished naval career, dedicating 20 years to service that took him across the globe. His time in the Navy was marked by commitment and honor, ultimately retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. Even after his retirement, Bob remained deeply connected to his naval roots, actively participating in his ship’s gatherings and supporting numerous causes dear to him.

Following his naval career, Bob explored various occupations, although his greatest joy came from traveling alongside his devoted wife, Nancy. Together, they embraced the spirit of adventure and hospitality, often serving as gracious hosts at many national parks, sharing their love for nature with family and friends alike.

Bob was a man of quiet strength and warmth, known for his great sense of humor and his unwavering kindness. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, a testament to his generous spirit. Family and visitors were always welcome in his home, provided he could still enjoy his daily rituals of reading the newspaper, watching the news and sports, and meticulously balancing his checkbook. He had a notable fondness for sweets—apple pie, ice cream, cake—the list was endless, and his love for these treats remains a fond and endearing memory for all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughters Marina, Brigitte, Vivianne (partner Dennis), and Debbie (partner John); son Ronnie (partner Mia); and grandchildren David, Shalla, Elena, Tommy, Justin (partner Montana), Jessie (partner Wes), and Natasha. His daughter Francine preceded him in death.
