Helen was born the 5th of May 1930 in Steens, Mississippi. She attended school in Caledonia, Mississippi and Robertsdale, Alabama. She married John Chupek on August 23, 1947. Once married, she and John settled in Silverhill, Alabama. She served and supported her family as a homemaker. In 1963, she and John partnered with the Beasley's establishing Fairhope Paint and Body Shop where she served as the bookkeeper for 25 years. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, traveling but most importantly spending time with her family. Helen was also a devout, lifelong student of the Word. Not only was she a student but she served as a Bible school teacher and mentor to adults and children alike. As grandchildren began to arrive, Helen soon became known as Motmaw. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, creating memories that they still talk about to this day. After retiring in 1988, Helen and John continued their journey traveling, entertaining and looking forward to family gatherings, but the focus of their journey never waivered from the Lord. Helen's faith and devotion helped convert John to Christ and together they raised their family in the Lord. She was respected as the matriarch who provided stability and strength for her entire family and her legacy will never be forgotten.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 3:00pm, at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
