Henry Paul Burkhardt, Jr., age 74, of Elberta, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Born on October 15, 1951, Henry lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and self.
For over 40 years, worked as a construction worker, specializing in drywall and more, demonstrating his incredible work ethic and commitment to his craft. He took great pride in providing for his family, and his proudest accomplishment was raising his two children on his own, a testament to his strength and devotion as a father.
Henry was known for his kind spirit and easygoing nature. He brought joy to everyone around him, particularly through his legendary gumbo, which became a cherished memory for many who had the pleasure of enjoying it. His love for the outdoors was apparent in his hobbies, as he relished hunting and fishing. Additionally, he had a passion for NASCAR, which brought him excitement and enjoyment.
He is survived by his son, Christopher H. Burkhardt, and daughter, Jennifer Michelle Burkhardt. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Parker, and her family, who will carry his memory forward. He joins his beloved parents in eternal rest; his father, Henry Burkhardt Senior, and mother, Mary Burkhardt.
A visitation will be held on March 9, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Foley Chapel, located at 2551 S McKenzie St, Foley, Alabama. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
Henry Paul Burkhardt, Jr. will be deeply missed. His legacy of kindness, love, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
