Henry "Peyton" Herman

Henry Peyton Herman, age 83, a native of Prattville, AL and a longtime resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Peyton served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961. He worked on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Saratoga CVA 60. He retired from the Army Corps Engineers after 35 years. Mr. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary E. Herman, and his brother, James “Rex” Herman. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mari Herman; 4 children, Johnny Herman, Kelly Annan, Jimmy Herman and Wesley Herman; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in Memory Gardens of Fairhope, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 3:00pm. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Joseph’s Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Mr. Herman.
