Herman Edward Smith

Herman Edward Smith, Jr, born in Mobile, Alabama, passed away on October 29th, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and kindness.

Herman graduated from Baker High School and dedicated his career to the insurance industry, working with American National Insurance and Pittman Insurance in Fairhope, Alabama. He was known for his warm personality and the joy he brought to his colleagues and clients alike.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta M. Smith, his father, Herman E. Smith, his sister, Emily Morgan, and his daughter, Stephanie Smith. Herman is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty J. Smith, of Fairhope, Alabama; his daughter Nicole S. Boswell, also of Fairhope; his cherished grandson, Cole Boswell; and his brother, Robert "Bob" Smith of Mobile.

For many years, Herman spent his mornings at the Coffee Loft, where he enjoyed sharing laughter and stories with his close friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

The family will hold a graveside service on Friday, November 8th, at 11 o’clock at Fairhope Colony Cemetery. 

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
