Hugh Winston Overton, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hugh W. Overton, Jr., who passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, following a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on August 22, 1947, Hugh lived a life marked by boundless energy, remarkable intelligence, and an unmistakable spirit. Throughout his 79 years, he touched the lives of many through his wisdom, quick wit, humor, and unwavering determination. He left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His strength and perseverance were evident throughout his life, especially during his long journey with Alzheimer’s disease, which he faced with courage.

Above all, Hugh will be remembered for the many lives he touched and the memories he created with those closest to him. His presence, humor, and distinctive personality will be deeply missed, but the influence he had on his family and friends will continue to live on in the stories shared, the lessons remembered, and the love that remains.

Hugh is survived by his beloved siblings, Rosemary and Ralph; his loving children, Alaina and Dana; and his cherished grandson, Charlie. His family will forever hold close the memories they shared with him and the moments that made him such a special part of their lives.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Hugh and his memory.
