Irene Bertagnolli Duff

Irene Bertagnolli Duff, a cherished member of her community and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in her hometown of Spanish Fort, Alabama. She was born on March 30, 1931, in Spanish Fort and lived a remarkable life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and church.

A longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a current member of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Parish, Irene's steadfast faith was an integral part of her life. She was known for her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to her community, always extending a helping hand to those in need and inspiring others to do the same.

Irene is survived by her loving children, Cecilia Duff (Tim) McKenzie of Spanish Fort, Paul Francis (Leigh Ann) Duff of Fairhope, and Tanya Duff (Richard) Boeggeman of Daphne.  She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Timothy (Mary) McKenzie, Jr., Lauren (Robert) Hammon, Haleigh (Dillon) Sims, Matthew Duff, 
Nathan Duff, R. Corey (Hannah) Boeggeman, and Marissa Boeggeman; four great-grandsons, Rylan, Wyatt, Leighton Sims, and Eddie Hammon; sisters-in-law Catherine Bertagnolli, Dottie Bertagnolli, both of Spanish Fort, 
and Margaret Duff of Centennial, CO, who will remember her kindness and the joy she brought into their lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, F. Louis Duff, and her parents, Oliver and Irene Shambo Bertagnolli, her dear siblings, including sisters Mary B. Sandell, Evelyn B. Sanchez, and Elsa B. Brown, as well as her brothers Oliver C. Bertagnolli, Joseph E. Bertagnolli, Sr., and Robert E. Bertagnolli. Irene will be remembered fondly for her compassionate nature, her unwavering faith, and her profound love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will carry on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as they strive to embody the values she instilled in them.

The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne Chapel, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Parish, Spanish Fort, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
