Isabelle Rogers Carley

d. June 14, 2022

Isabelle Rogers Carley gently passed away early June 14, 2022, in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Born September 26, 1924, to Leroy and Ester Rogers of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Isabelle was the oldest of five children, all of whom predeceased her. During her working career, she was an accomplished seamstress, caterer, nurse and dorm mother. She retired June 30, 1991, from her position as dorm mother at Mississippi Delta Junior College to devote herself to becoming the world's best mother/grandmother. Noted for her hospitality, she always made those she came in contact with feel valued. She was known for her ability to express love in any situation and always looked to the needs of others before her own. She was a woman of excellence in everything she touched. Isabelle enjoyed traveling and was always ready to try anything new and interesting. And if you mentioned fishing, she was always ready and willing -even if she was not always able (smile). She had the ability to make ordinary life more fun and beautiful. She just made fun funnier!! She was a precious southern lady who loved the Lord and others. She brought no sadness into this world and leaves none in her passing. Her family knows how privileged they were to have been sheltered under the wings of her care. She is preceded in death by her former husband and friend, Joseph 0. Carley, her son Joe Wayne Carley and daughter-in-law Edith Sue Self Carley. She is survived by her daughters Anna Ruth Carley Davis (Guy) and Vivian Lee Carley Gallaspy (George), her adoring grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. The family extends its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, where she resided the last six years. A private memorial service will be held in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Donations in Isabelle's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or Center Ridge Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 3150 Center Ridge Rd., Yazoo City, MS 39194
