Jacquelyn Elaine Brown

Jacquelyn Elaine Langford Brown, 73, was born on September 11, 1952, in Bessemer, Alabama, and was raised in McCalla, Alabama. Throughout her life, the values of faith, family, and love remained at the center of who she was.

Jacque was preceded in death by her parents, Jack David Langford and Elaine Langford Kirby.

She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love and the lessons she gave them: her children, April Key (Scott), Daniel Russell (Paula Gail), and Holly Mills (Josh); her beloved grandchildren, Luke Pendergrass, Carly Pendergrass, Noah Mills, and Haley Mills; her sister, Jerri Bottom; her cousin, Karen Rohrbach; and her lifelong best friend, Elizabeth Rowe.

Jacque was a kind, loving, giving, patient, and honest woman. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister, deeply family-oriented, and few things brought her greater joy than spending time with the people she loved, especially spoiling her grandchildren.

Above all, Jacque was Christ-centered and faithful. Her faith guided the way she lived and loved and remained at the center of her life.

She loved the beach and all holidays, with Christmas holding an especially special place in her heart. She was also a devoted Alabama football fan and proudly cheered for the Crimson Tide.

Some of her family's most treasured memories were made gathered around a table playing games. Jacque taught her children dominoes and Hearts from an early age, and those traditions continued with her grandchildren. The laughter, friendly competition, and time spent together became part of the fabric of her family. Even in her final days, that tradition continued as her family gathered in her hospital room to play together.

Jacque dedicated much of her life to education, serving as both a teacher and school secretary at Flint Hill Christian School and Garywood Christian School. Her patience, kindness, and caring nature were qualities she carried into her work and every part of her life.

Jacque's love, faith, and devotion to her family will live on in the generations she leaves behind. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister; a faithful woman; and someone whose presence made family gatherings warmer, holidays brighter, and ordinary moments more meaningful.

In accordance with Jacque's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A private graveside gathering will be held with her closest family and loved ones, honoring her life simply and peacefully with the singing of two beloved hymns.
