James Reily Allen (Jim)

May 8, 1939 - August 24, 2026

James Reily Allen (Jim) was born on May 8, 1939, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. His father was Willard

Waters Allen, and his mother was Frances Lorraine Nelson. He had one brother, George Willard Allen.

In 1945, the family moved to Point Clear, Alabama, where Jim attended Point Clear Elementary

School, Fairhope Junior High School, and Fairhope Senior High School. He later attended the

University of Alabama, studying Commerce and Business Administration.

Jim met and married Linda Marie Channell, and they had three children: Kimberly Diane, James

Michael, and Christopher Scott.

Jim served in the United States Navy and the United States Merchant Marine during the Korean and

Vietnam conflicts. After his service, he worked as a salesman for Robertsdale Insurance in Robertsdale,

Alabama; served Baldwin County as Chief Clerk and Probate Clerk; worked for Brown Equipment as a

salesman in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later as a manager in Houston, Texas; and became the owner

of Hydrodynamic Cutting Services. Through Hydrodynamic Cutting Services, Jim traveled globally,

cutting and removing oil and gas well bores from offshore oil and gas platforms.

He met and married Kelly Lynn, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and they had one daughter, Sarah Frances

Lynn. Jim spent the following years with Kelly, raising their daughter.

Jim eventually moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where he worked for Sugar Sands Realty. He later

became manager of Sugar Beach Condominiums.

Jim met Valarie McKoon while serving as manager of Sugar Beach Condominiums, where Valarie was

purchasing two condominiums. They quickly became friends and later enjoyed extensive travel

together for the next 20 years.  He Is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved and adored.

Jim Allen enjoyed life to the fullest

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 10:00am until service time at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Brook-Cedron Cemetery.
