James A. Brown

James Arther Brown, a resident of Stapleton, Alabama, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 82.

He was born in Mobile, Alabama to the late William and Willie Estell Brown.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was an avid outdoorsman; his passion was fishing, especially catching catfish.

He was preceded in death by two sons, James Arther Brown Jr and Morgan Edward Brown and grandson, Jason Tyler Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of Stapleton, Alabama; daughters, Angela (Teddie) Downer of Robertsdale and Michele Renee Brown of Mobile; son, Jonathan Adrian Brown of Bay Minette; stepdaughter, Crystal Johnson of Stapleton; stepsons, Jason Johnson of Wilcox and William Edward Johnson of Stapleton; sister, Linda Estell (Jerry) Cammuso, PA; brothers, Ernest Brown of Magnolia Springs and Charles Brown of Creola; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 5:00pm. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm.
