Jammie Eldridge Haynes, affectionately known to many as "Hedge," was born in Germany on December 22, 1967. He departed this world unexpectedly on October 6, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. Jammie's journey through life was characterized by a remarkable blend of intellect, craftsmanship, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
A proud graduate of J.B. Pennington High School in Blountsville, Alabama, Jammie's legacy is rooted in his extensive career with Thompson Caterpillar, where he devoted over three decades of service. His journey culminated in the prestigious achievement of TT Master Certification, reflecting his expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence in his field. Jammie's analytical nature and generosity of spirit enabled him to share his knowledge, mentoring those around him and nurturing the next generation of talent within the industry.
Beyond his professional accolades, Jammie was known for his zest for life. He found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was through memorable kayaking and camping excursions or riding his motorcycle. These memories were a testament to his love for adventure and the deep bonds he cherished with those closest to him.
A lover of motorcycles and a skilled guitar player, Jammie’s passions extended into many aspects of life, enriching his experiences and the lives of those around him. His friendships were marked by a profound sense of camaraderie; among his closest companions was Jeff Hollingsworth, with whom he shared countless adventures and heartfelt memories.
Jammie leaves behind a tapestry of loving family members: his son Cody Haynes and daughter-in-law Rosalie, along with his cherished grandchildren, Elijah and Elaina. He is survived by his beloved mother, Patsy Haynes, and his sister, Krystal Cooke. He also leaves behind Debra Simms, his fiancée, and a legacy that includes extended family through previous unions: stepchildren Cierra Holifield, Whitney Kyte, Skyler Parker, and Jocyah Young.
He was predeceased by his wife Theresa Haynes, his father Richard Allen Haynes, and his daughter Haleigh Beth Moore.
As we gather to honor Jammie’s life, friends and family are invited to celebrate the memories we hold dear. Visitation will be held at Fairhope Chapel in Fairhope, Alabama, on October 11, 2025, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, leading into a Funeral Service from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Fowler Springs Cemetery in Blountsville, AL the following day.
