Obituary

Jane Elaine Bright, born January 5, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on April 30, 2026, at her home in Foley, Alabama, with her loving husband and beloved dog Joey by her side.

Jane was a woman full of life, strong, quick-witted, and genuinely hilarious. She had a smile for everyone she met and a heart that loved deeply. Her family and friends meant everything to her, and she gave that love freely and fully. She will always be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and the way she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

She had a special passion for fostering and rescuing dogs, opening her home and heart to so many animals in need. She also loved decorating her home and spending time in her garden, creating beauty wherever she went.

Jane dedicated most of her career to the St. Louis County Police Department, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. After retiring, she and her husband Jim moved to Foley, Alabama, fulfilling her dream of living by the beach, a place she truly loved.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Bright; her brothers Joe, Jeff, and Jim. Her daughters, Jennifer Leary and Kelly Horch, and Kelly’s husband, Tim Horch; her stepchildren, Mary Lewis and Mary's husband Eric, Molly Frye and Molly's husband Clay, Theresa Bright Voss, and Daniel Bright; and her cherished grandchildren, Brianna Izquierdo, Nicolas Izquierdo, Benjamin Izquierdo, Daniel Izquierdo, Vivienne Horch, James (Jimmie) Bright, Brentwood, Vik Voss; and her great grandchild Jaedyn Bright

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Brasser, and her mother, Sara Brasser.

A celebration of life will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, with the date and time to be announced.
