Janet Agnes (Fleming) Antoine, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 85.
She was born in Madison, WI to the late Arthur and Agnes Fleming. At age ten, the Fleming family moved to Fairhope where they had a dairy farm on Morphy Avenue. As a teenager, Janet competed in various 4-H Club activities including showing dairy cows. She is a 1957 graduate of Bishop Toolen School for Girls. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Antoine, on August 16, 1958, where they shared 66 wonderful years together.
The Antoine family moved to Beeville, TX in 1971 where they made many lifelong friends. Janet was an active volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was involved in the 4-H and FFA Homemakers club as well as many school and sport activities with her children.
Janet and Edward moved to Fairhope in 1985 where she was active in St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Janet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Grandma, Grammy, and Minnie. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Antoine of Fairhope; son Edward Jr (Cindy); Jeannie (Ronnie) Cink; Jim (Laura); Kay (Tom) Zalewski; Margaret (late David) Ard; Angela (Gary) Maluda. She has 19 grandchildren: Amy (Chris) Moses; Carl (Lauren) Antoine; Paul (Leann) Cink; Bradley Antoine; Kevin (Carrie) Antoine; Joseph (Brooke) Cink; Steven (Lily) Ard; Lauren (Reid) Timms; Sara (Dillon) Beschel; Jacob (Emma) Ard; Allison Antoine; Scott (Amber) Antoine; Zachary Zalewski; Alex (Lacey) Maluda; Nicolas (Nikki Khairandish) Zalewski; Erin Ard; Andy (MacKenzie) Maluda; Wes Maluda; and Mary Grace Maluda. She has 22 great grandchildren.
Her siblings are Jack (the late Debbie) Fleming; Brother Francis Fleming; Kitty (the late Ronnie) Stratis; Patty (Don) Rohan; and Mary Jane (Dale) Vines. She has two sisters-in-law Dona (the late Emmett) Anderson and Carlita (Rusty) Wimberly. She has many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, from 5:00 until 7:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery. Her Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
