Jason Alan Farmer

October 16, 1979 – September 24, 2026

Jason Alan Farmer, of Mobile, Alabama, and a native of Chickasaw, Alabama, passed away on September 24, 2026, after an incredibly courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 46 years old.

Jason was born on October 16, 1979, to George E. Farmer and Sheila R. Farmer. On February 20, 2016, he married Rebecca Witherington, and together they built a life centered around love, family, laughter, and their greatest blessing, their daughter, Lily Farmer, age 8.

Above everything else, Jason loved his family. He was a devoted husband to Rebecca and an incredibly loving daddy to Lily. The love he had for his girls was immeasurable, and they were the reason behind so much of the strength and determination he showed throughout his life.

Jason worked at Bay Area Screw & Supply, where he was blessed with coworkers who became much more than coworkers—they became family.

Anyone who knew Jason knew some of the things that brought him the most joy. He loved fishing and being on the water, and he loved football—especially Alabama football. Saturdays in the fall meant Crimson Tide football, and “Roll Tide” was more than just a saying in the Farmer household. Whether he was fishing, watching football, spending time with family and friends, or simply enjoying an ordinary day at home, Jason appreciated the moments that made life good.

Jason will also be remembered for his kindness and gratitude. Even during the most difficult season of his life, he continued to thank the people who helped him and made sure they knew they were appreciated. His strength was remarkable, but so was the heart behind it.

For more than two and a half years, Jason fought Stage IV pancreatic cancer with extraordinary courage and determination.

He endured more than anyone should ever have to endure, repeatedly surpassing expectations and continuing to fight when the odds were stacked against him.

But pancreatic cancer will never be the point of Jason’s story.

His story is one of faith, courage, kindness, perseverance, family, and above all, love.

Jason is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Witherington Farmer; his daughter, Lily Farmer; his parents, George E. Farmer and Sheila R. Farmer; his brother and sister-in-law, Bryan K. and Julie S. Farmer; his nephew, Caleb B. Farmer; his niece, Sarah G. Farmer; his paternal aunt, Mary Isabelle Edwards; his maternal grandmother, Jackie Reddick; and many other extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anna Marie Farmer and Aubrey Joseph Farmer; his paternal uncles, Lloyd Farmer, David Farmer, and Melvin Farmer; his maternal grandfather, Robin H. Reddick, Jr.; and his maternal uncle, Robin H. Reddick, III.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be held Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Daphne Baptist Church, 1515 Sixth Street, Daphne, Alabama.

Visitation will be held from 1:00–3:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Graveside services will immediately follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, 27896 State Highway 181, Daphne, Alabama.

Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to return to Daphne Baptist Church for a time of fellowship and remembrance.

Jason fought his fight with incredible strength. His body may have grown tired, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he made will continue through everyone who knew and loved him.

And when fall comes around, when the fish are biting, or when Alabama takes the field on a Saturday, there will always be a little piece of Jason there.
