Jeanne Howell Gibson, lovingly known to most as "Nini," passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 79.

Jeanne was born on June 2, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Gordon Bruce Howell and Mary Kate Terrell Howell. She was raised in Dallas and later made her home in Foley, Alabama.

Nini had a gift for making people feel loved. Nothing brought her more joy than opening her home and gathering family and friends around her table, and what a table it always was!!! Set beautifully, with every detail lovingly considered. She was a born hostess who loved to entertain, and no one ever left her home without feeling cherished and welcomed.

Nini never met a stranger. Whether she had known you for decades or a few minutes, she greeted you with open arms, a big hug, and a genuine, selfless love that came straight from her heart. She simply wanted everyone around her to feel cared for, and they did.

She was as bright and cheerful as the gatherings she hosted. Always dressed in vibrant, fun colors, she brought light and laughter wherever she went, and her joy was contagious.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Carl E. Gibson; her sister, Susan Watkins; her daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Joe Newman; her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Robin Wootton; and her grandchildren, Nick, Faith, Christiane, Leila, and Isabel. Her step sons and their wives Phillip & Laura Hethcox and Chris and Bena Hethcox and step son Carl Gibson, Jr.. and a dozen grandchildren.

Her sweet spirit, her generous heart, and her warm embrace will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
