Jeffrey Tyler Stapleton

Jeffrey Tyler Stapleton, a native of Fairhope, died peacefully at Thomas Hospital on March 2, 2024, after a brief illness.

Upon graduation from Fairhope High School, he went to work for, and traveled with, the Corp of Engineers. When that job ended, he began his career of 25 years at the City of Fairhope working in the Public Works Dept.

Jeff’s favorite job, which he considered his most important task, was to welcome the people who entered the east entrance of First Baptist Church of Fairhope on Sunday mornings. He greeted with a smile and was always quick to assist those who needed a little extra attention.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father Wesley Stapleton, and his older sister Kim Stapleton Fobes.

He is survived by his mother Bebe Stapleton, his brother Wes Stapleton (Carol), his nephews Gray Fobes (Julia), Artie Stapleton, Kenne Stapleton, his niece Lauren Spencer (Jeff), and his 4 great nephews and 1 great niece.

There will be a celebration of Jeffrey Stapleton’s Life on Wednesday, March 6,2024 at First Baptist Church in Fairhope, AL, beginning with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and services to follow at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, Jeff’s favorite organization.
