Jeremy Ryan Rooker, 46, of Bowman, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 10, 2025, while vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama, doing what he loved the most, spending time with his family.
Rook, as he was affectionately known, was born on October 25, 1978, in Decatur, Georgia, to William Clay Rooker and Angela Hall Rooker.
Rook is survived by his wife, April Maxwell Rooker, his children, Landon Rooker and Frances Rooker, mother, Angela Hall Rooker; grandmother, Barbara “Bobbie” Rooker; siblings, Jonathan (Tina) Vickery; and Jessica (Daniel) Campbell; parents-in-law, Marcus “Bubba” (Sherry) Maxwell; and Terry (Mike) Tate; brother-in-law: Josh (Caitlin) Maxwell; Uncle Lowry “Snookie”Hall; nieces and nephews: Avery Lunsford, Logan Vickery, Addison Campbell, Addilyn Campbell, Liam Campbell, special cousins, Justin Rooker and Tracy Blackmore, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Clay Rooker; his uncle, Mickey Glenn Rooker; his grandparents, William K. Rooker, Elbert Franklin Hall, Bobby Sue Hall, Winifred “Mama” Hancock, and James “Pops” Carver.
He was a graduate of Elbert County High School, Athens Technical College, an electrician and the owner and operator of Complete Electrical Contractors (CEC). His problem solving abilities and pragmatic approach to life made him successful in his business and personal relationships.
Rook lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for many things: his love of being outdoors, especially when it involved water of any kind, his quick-witted humor and his infectious smile.
Above all these things, Rook will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his friends. He cherished time spent celebrating holidays, special occasions, UGA football games and even ordinary weekends enjoying a good meal, sharing memories and humorous stories with the people he loved. His big heart endeared him to all who knew him and his dedication to those he loved will be his greatest legacy.
Rook was cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Sandbar located at 3435 King Hall Mill Road, Bowman, Georgia 30624. Rook and April met at The Sandbar and spent countless hours camping, fishing and enjoying the beautiful Broad River together.
