Born on August 6, 1932, in Columbus, Indiana, Jerry was a vibrant soul whose spirit touched everyone he met.

He dedicated a significant part of his life to shaping young minds as a beloved retired business teacher at Bloomington High School South. His classroom was more than a place for education; it was a sanctuary where laughter thrived and knowledge flourished. Jerry was more than just an educator; he was a mentor, a friend, and an unwavering guide to those who sought his wisdom. His unique ability to connect with students created bonds that would last a lifetime, as he inspired countless individuals in pivotal moments of their formative years.

Jerry's kind and welcoming nature radiated warmth and affection, always illustrated with a gentle smile that could brighten even the gloomiest of days. In the community, he became affectionately known as "the squishy man" for his endearing habit of distributing squishy toys, little tokens of joy that he offered to both children and adults alike. His legacy lives on through the twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren who will carry his spirit forward.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan F. Denny, whose memory remained a guiding light in Jerry's life. Together, they shared a remarkable journey filled with love, support, and adventure.
