John Michael Seibert

John Michael Seibert, a resident of Timbercreek in Daphne passed away on Nov 19th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his first wife Frances Seibert. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Susan Hajek (Richard) of Charleston, SC, grandchildren Ian Hajek of Denver, CO, Carolyn Hajek (Chris) of Buffalo, NY, and brother Robert Seibert of Decatur, AL. He was an active member of Spanish Fort United Methodist Church.

Mr. Seibert received a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Alabama. His career in the field of metallurgy took him to positions in Decatur, AL, Baltimore, MD, Reading, PA and Atlanta, GA. He retired from Lucent Technology where his work was involved with the manufacture of copper cable and fiber optics. He held several patents in these areas.

Mr. Seibert enjoyed gardening and became a Master Gardner after retiring to the Eastern Shore. He also enjoyed having time in retirement to fish, play bridge, and play golf. He also enjoyed playing tennis and was active in the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association for many years. Neighbors and friends, both in Atlanta and on the Eastern Shore, fondly remember Mike as a baker. Starting in 1984, he made sour dough bread “from scratch” using a bread starter which was given to him by a friend. Several times a week he made bread and gave it to neighbors and friends. Children in the neighborhood referred to Mr. Seibert as “Mr. Mike, the Bread Man”

He was loved by many, especially Benjamin.
