Columbus

John “Tommy” Thomas Alexander was 58 when he passed away on May 27, 2024.

He was a resident of Columbus, GA, where he was born and raised. At the time of his passing, he was visiting his daughter and son-in-law in Orange Beach, Alabama.

He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he attended with his family.

He was born on December 25, 1965, to William and Roxie Alexander.

Tommy worked for Publix for 28 years before retiring in 2021. After he retired, he received his Class B CDL license and became a school bus driver. He drove for Muscogee County School system and The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Columbus, GA.

Tommy loved his family. He was an amazing father, Paw Paw, son, brother and uncle. He would do anything he could for his family. They were his number one priority in life. He loved playing cards, going on vacations, and having family dinners with them.

Beside his love for his family, Tommy also was a huge Georgia bulldog football fan. Saturdays in the fall you could always find him wearing his favorite team attire and cheering them on.

He also loved going to the beach and going on cruises. He was happiest when he was near the water. He also had a huge love of animals, and never met an animal that didn’t love him back.
