Specifically, he enjoyed his time in the Philippines at the Subic Bay Naval Station. He continued to be involved with the local PFC Jesse Andrews Jr. Detachment after moving to Alabama. Joesph was a very proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Joe worked in corrections for the state of Pennsylvania before retiring in 1997. In retirement he enjoyed being a volunteer ranger at Glengarry Golf Links in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and most recently at Quail Creek Golf Course here in Fairhope. Joe thoroughly enjoyed golf, fishing, spending time with his wife and family, and being retired. He was very involved in coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams. He played a significant role in the founding of the girls’ softball team at Greater Latrobe High School and was their coach for the first two years of the program.
