Joseph Bryant Stewart

Joseph “Jody” Bryant Stewart, 65, of Fairhope Alabama, passed away on March 16th, 2023, due to a heart attack. Jody was born in Albertville, Alabama on November 17th, 1957. He graduated from Albertville High School in 1976 and he went on to obtain his degree in aviation at Gadsden State Community College. Jody Stewart was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. Even though he was a very boisterous man, he was a very loving man. His family knows he is singing and dancing through the heavenly golden gates. All who knew Jody are shocked he has left this world so quickly, but rejoicing he has returned home where he can freely enjoy and hear every glorious sound with no more ringing. Jody was blessed enough to fly, which is what he loved, for most of his life. Even before he could fly, he was at the airport doing something as a little boy. He flew solo in an airplane before he could even drive a car. He cherished the time spent with his beautiful family and friends. The light of his life were his grandkids, flying his model airplanes, wrestling with his dog Sophie, watching Alabama football (goes without saying it), and just recently scuba diving. He loved helping others by counseling at the church with Divorce Care and any other possible means he could. The lives he touched are unmeasurable. He loved all that life had to offer. Jody is survived by his loving wife Tammy Stewart. Children: Heather (Clay) Maxey of Mountain Home AR, Erik (Taylor) Stewart of Mountain Home AR, and Savannah Stewart of Epping, NH. Bonus sons: Tyler Reis and Andrew Reis. Grandchildren: Finley and Mattie Claire Maxey; Sophia, Henry, Nora Grace, and Annie Kate Stewart. Four Brothers: Bobby (Nanette) Stewart, Terry Stewart, Greg (Lori) Stewart, and Tommy (Teresa) Stewart. One Sister: Diane Chavers. As well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jody is preceded in death by parents Robert “Bill” and Willene Stewart. The visitation will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at 2pm and service to begin 3:30pm at First Baptist Church (304 E Main St, Albertville AL, 35950), Pastor Mike Johnson will be officiating this celebration of Jody’s life. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery for family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
