Joseph Terry Vinson, Sr., age 70, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021. He was devoted to faith, family, education and to furthering the growth of those he mentored on and off the field. He was also a beloved member and deacon of Eastern Shore Baptist Church. “Coach Vinson”, as many called him, coached both football and baseball at Foley, Fairhope and Daphne schools. He taught history and physical education at both Foley and Fairhope schools. He was well known for his “Boot Scootin Boogy”. He was also an avid outdoorsman and could often be found in a tree stand, or a bass boat, or in the fairway. In 2004, Terry welcomed the last true loves of his life, his grandchildren. While his heart was full prior to their arrival, space had to be made for Price, Bella and Joy. If you wish to see the true love of this wonderful man, search the smiles of his three favorite souls. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 48 years, Pamela W. Vinson. Mr. Vinson is survived by his son, Joss Vinson and daughter, Falyn Vinson of Fairhope. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Price Vinson, Isabella Vinson and Joyanne Vinson; his brothers, William Vinson of MS and Robert Vinson of Birmingham, AL; nieces, nephews, and many other relative and friends. A Celebration of Mr. Vinson’s Life will held Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, with a visitation immediately following at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to World Vision’s COVID-19 relief for families in need during this difficult time: donate.worldvision.org.
