June R. Dahlman

“Mustang Sally”

“THE QUEEN”

On Tuesday Oct 18, 2022, June Rose Dahlman passed away peacefully in the home that she shared with her daughter Jackie in Pensacola, Florida. June was born 95 years ago in Cleveland, Ohio on June 2, 1927. Her greatest achievement was how she made everyone feel loved and welcomed with her kindness, hugs, sincerity, and her delicious bake goods. Most of all June cherished her time as a homemaker and being a beautiful wife to her late, amazing, husband George, an amazing parent, grandparent, and great grandparent.

June and George’s life was a love story in itself. Having met during the Great Depression at the city baseball fields where he pretended to steal her tennis racquet, it was love at first site. They were married a year later and had three wonderful children. They lived in Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Kentucky. Finally settling down in Lillian Alabama where she resided for the past 37 years.

June’s love for their home and the area of Spanish Cove was unsurpassed. She participated in all the community activities she could. Dancing, playing Bingo, potluck dinners, the Boardwalk and long walks through the neighborhood were some of her favorites; but most of all it was exercising with her friends which always included Rhonda.

June and George spent many years as volunteers at the National Naval Aviation Museum. The impact they had there and the friendships they made lasted a lifetime. She loved working on the home front, dressing the part, giving animal cracker cookies to the kids and baker goods to her museum friends. Through one of the museum friendships, she was gifted her beloved dog “Buddy” who stayed by her side always.

June was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, George L. Dahlman and son George “Bud”.  She is survived by her children, Edward J Dahlman and wife Joanne of Ohio and Daughter Jacqueline Morrow of Pensacola.  Grandchildren-Rebecca Sathre of Pensacola, Jason Dahlman and Jennifer Hasson both of Ohio, James and Patricia, as well as great grandchildren, Kaya, Malia, Elizabeth, Patrick, Audrey, Christian, Haley.

June will always be remembered by her immense kindness, loving spirit, and necessity to make sure everyone else knew they were loved. Everyone was amazed by the resiliency of her body that ran on coffee, chocolate, sweets, cheese, French fries, potato chips, and red meat. She was always classy with her beautiful/sincere infectious smile, her famously styled hair, her fancy way of dressing, as she drove her red convertible mustang around. She loved music, dancing, and being fancy. She is loved by everyone, missed by those who love her, and a legend to many. Her legacy is love, presence, sweet giggling, kindness, giving, and healthy family connections.

Funeral services will be held November 19, 2022, 11:00 AM at St Joseph Church, 12688 Santa Piedro Street, Lillian, AL.

Dinner reception immediately following in the church hall located behind church.

Inurnment, with her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
