Karen Renee McDermand

Karen Renee McDermand, age 66, a resident of Lillian, AL for 25 years, passed away Monday, September 9th, 2024.  

Born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. she began her career in ticket sales with the St. Louis Cardinals club at Busch stadium, eventually becoming vault money manager, and retiring from there. 

She had a love for her job, meeting new people, and more than anything, her 3cats, Monkey, Kinsa, and Charlotte. Her laughter could often be heard filling up any room she was in.

Preceded in death by her parents Earl Pashia, and Jacqueline Prater, as well as second mom, Darlene Maher. 

Also preceded in death by her beloved brother Mark Pashia, her first husband Rick Hays, longtime partner Mike Pomirko, second husband, Greg McDermand, and stepdaughter Katie Pomirko.

She is survived by her dear Aunt and Uncle, and stepchildren Jennifer (Ron) Sparks of MO, and Michael Pomirko of GA. and many other relatives and friends.
