Katelyn Monique Magdalena McDowell

Katelyn Monique Magdalena McDowell, age 36, a resident of Gulf Shores, Alabama, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Katelyn was born in Eugene, Oregon, in 1988 to parents Michael Benjamin McDowell and Denise Antoinette Torrez McDowell. Katelyn loved her children and spending quality time with them. She was a free spirit with a beautiful light that everyone saw how the room lite up when she walked in. She was very outgoing and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Katelyn loved the environment and loved animals. She enjoyed what she did, always surrounding herself with loving family and friends. Katelyn also loved the fact that she was of Navajo decent.

Preceding her in death are her father, Michael Benjamin McDowell; her grandparents, Ronnie McDowell and Merlene Rodriguez.

She is survived by; her two beautiful children, Londyn Rose James and Adalyn Lily Mensledge; her mother Denise Antoinette Torrez McDowell; brothers, Joaquin Daniel McDowell, and Jeff Michael McDowell; sisters, Amanda Baird, Melissa Culbreth; stepsister, SaVanna Peterson; her forever friend, Shawn Dewayne James; grandparents, Joaquin Torres and Magdalena Rice; her very special aunt, Kimberly Boutwell; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mo’s Landing, 18068 Fort Morgan Road Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6:00PM.
