Lavesta Toby Pugh

Lavesta Toby Pugh, age 58, passed away on December 14, 2025.

Born in Mobile, Alabama, Toby lived a life rooted in family, faith, and love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bain Pugh; his father, Arthur Lavesta Pugh; his adopted mom, Kathy Garner; and his brother, Kelly Garner.

Toby is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya Pugh; his stepchildren, Tasha Gomez, Kissta King, Tony King, and Tiffany King; and his cherished grandchildren: Tanner, Mallorie, Adrian and Holly, Nikolai, Jessie, Skyla, Aiden, Gabrielle, Brayden, and Gauge. Known affectionately as “Grumps,” Toby deeply loved his grandchildren. He took great joy in teaching the kids baseball and softball, spending time with family, and shooting pool. He was a die hard Alabama fan with a witty sense of humor.

A visitation will be held Friday, 12/19/2025 from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at South River Park Church, 10993 County Rd 32, Fairhope, AL 36532. Lunch will follow the service.

Toby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy lives on through the family he treasured so dearly.
