Le Dang Tran

Mrs. LE DANG TRAN, age 86, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Mrs. Tran was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose soul was the most gentle of all. She was a devout Catholic, her love extending from her family to Our Blessed Mother Mary. Born in Vietnam, Mrs. Tran met and married Mr. Loi Tran, her husband of more than 60 years, and together they have eight wonderful children. Immigrating from Vietnam in 1975, Mom escaped alone with her eight children, with the youngest being only 6 months old. Our father stayed behind to help other families escape the war. When reunited, they journeyed together across the world to America. By the grace of God and altruistic St. Lawrence parishioners Deacon Duncan Turnbull, his wife Alice, and son John, they settled in Fairhope, Alabama. As they began making a permanent home here in Fairhope, she worked odd jobs to help care for her eight children. There was no time for Mom to learn English. Despite the language barrier, those who knew her know that she never lacked for words because she communicated through her smile, laughter, and cooking. Even after a hard day's work, her main priority was always a home-cooked meal for her family, no matter how tired she was. She loved to cook and to feed those in her life. No matter the person or the time of the year, she was the flavour of all seasons for her family, friends, and community. Gardening and sewing were Mom's passions as well. She loved growing food to share with those she loved. She also enjoyed creating clothing and comfort for her children as they grew. Her gentle hands were the fabric of their lives, creating a blanket of security, warmth, and endless love. Mrs. Tran is preceded in death by her husband Loi. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her sons James Bond Tran (Dee), Lordstone Tran (Tuyet "Trish"), Ace Tran (Tammy), Tom Rockwell Tran (Lisa), and Francois Elexus Tran (Kerry); daughters Anh Tran Kangsumrith (Tee), Anhdria Tran Paschoud (Christian), and Loan Tran; and 16 remarkable grandchildren, Cilla, John Loi, Lina, Michael, Matthew Le, Mimi, Madeleine, Bell, Lauren Audrey, Ana Grace, Piercy, Gabrielle, Andrew Nam, Walker, Eli, and Aidan, as well as one great-grandchild Juniper Mei "Juni." God has blessed the TRAN family in so many ways, for so many years, and with so many friends. Memorial service will be held Wednesday December 27, 2023. Visitation at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope Alabama.
