Leeann Jean Hill McMullen

Leeann Jean Hill McMullen, age 59, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025, after a short and valiant fight against cancer. Leeann was a current resident of Fairhope, Alabama and spent much of her life in Theodore/Mobile, Alabama.

She was the cherished soulmate of her spouse James David McMullen, who preceded her in death.

Leeann passionately loved her family and friends. She was endlessly creative, painting and crafting. She had numerous award-winning Mardi Gras and Halloween costumes and endless decorations. She loved all of her gem named dogs with all her heart, with Sapphire by her side until the end. Reading was her passion and she had hundreds of books. With a spectacular green thumb, her plants have thrived for decades! She was the most wonderful, loving care- giver for her mom for years.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Robert Charles and LuJane Davies Hill, and Deborah Thompson (sister).

She is survived by her sisters: Kathy (Woody) Pierce of Fairhope, Sherry Amerson (Terry Lisenba) of Fairhope, Isabelle (Parrish) Pope of Fairhope, heart-sister, and Michelle (Chris) French; brother: Jou Baur; nieces: Jennifer Parnell (Arron Miller), Beth (Kevin) Gasque, Jennifer (Neil) Chevallier, Sandra Mayon, and Katherine French; nephews: Joseph (Lisa) Amerson, Dylan (Kayla) Amerson, Joe Mayon, Justen Time, and Dominic French; and so many other loving relatives and so many loving friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held to bring together her loved ones on August 16th, at 3pm at the Fairhope Elks Lodge 561 Mobile Street Fairhope. A second Celebration of Life service will be held in the Fowl River area, date, time and location to follow shortly. Rest in peace, our feisty, beautiful Leeann.
