Linda Hardin Bryant, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and cherished member of her community, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Daphne, Alabama. She was born on April 25, 1942, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she spent her early years developing a love for education and the arts.
Linda was a proud graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and went on to earn her degree in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama. This educational journey laid the foundation for a life dedicated to nurturing and inspiring young minds, reflecting her profound belief in the power of learning.
Throughout her life, Linda was known for her beautiful voice, which touched many hearts as she participated actively in her church. Singing in the church choir was not merely a pastime for her; it was her passion and a means through which she expressed her faith and joy. Linda served her church in various capacities, always willing to lend a hand and share her talents with those around her.
Family was at the heart of Linda's existence. She was married to her soulmate, Charles Bryant, whose love and support enriched her life deeply. Following his passing, Linda drew strength from the bonds she shared with her son, Lloyd Chanders “Chan” Garrisons III, and her cherished grandson, William Lloyd “Will” Garrison. Time spent with them brought her immeasurable joy, and she treasured every moment together. Her daughter-in-law, Lisa Usher Garrison, was also an integral part of her family life, completing their circle of love and unity.
Linda had a vibrant social life, filled with hobbies and interests that brought her great happiness. She loved spending time with friends, particularly enjoying spirited games of bridge, and she cherished her regular breakfast meetings with friends at East Shore Cafe. These moments of connection and camaraderie were essential to her, as they enriched her days and extended her community ties.
In addition to her immediate family, Linda is survived by special cousins, Carlyn Collins, Glen Collins, Lora Jean Greenwood, and Margaret Kelly McClusky, who held a significant place in her life.
Linda Hardin Bryant will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her dedication to her family, her passion for music, and her commitment to serving others. She left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration that will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew her. Her radiant presence will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will forever shine bright in the hearts of her loved ones.
Memorial services will be held in the Daphne Chapel of Wolfe Bayview Funeral Home on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 1:00pm.
The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior.
