Lois Geneva Ledford, 91, resident of Anniston, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 10:00 am at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL.
The family will receive friends at the Fairhope Chapel one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort.
Mrs. Ledford was born and lived most of her life in Chatsworth and Dalton, GA until moving to Mobile, AL in 2017 and later to Anniston, AL. She was a 1951 graduate of Murray County High School. For years she worked alongside her husband in their family-owned grocery stores. Mrs. Ledford retired from Hardwick Bank and Trust Company in 1999 after many years of employment with them.
She is survived by her sons, Ron (Lou) Ledford of Daphne, AL, Don (Becky) Ledford of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Ron (Heather) Ledford, Jr., Sarah (Lance) Berry, Ann (Tyler) Dunaway, Lauren Ledford (Enrico Galbiati), Tyler Ledford, Adam (Shelby) Ledford; great grandchildren, Avery Ledford, Cooper Ledford, Camp Ledford, Carter Berry, Chloe Berry, Ellis Dunaway, Emory Dunaway, Evie Dunaway, Adeline Ledford, and Giorgia Galbiati; her sister, Bennie Long; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William “Jackie” Ledford; parents, Ben and Mary Lou Jones; sister, Imogene Green.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Ledford, Adam Ledford, Tyler Dunaway, Lance Berry, Tony Long, Don Ledford, and Ron Ledford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family wishes to thank the staff of Autumn Cove Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice for their care and support.
