Lori Wiggins Koppersmith

Lori Wiggins Koppersmith, age 71, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, strength, and service to others.

Born on October 7, 1955, in Atmore, Alabama, Lori was the daughter of Comer and Corene Wiggins. She grew up in Cantonment, Florida, before attending Troy State University in Troy, Alabama, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health. A talented athlete with a competitive spirit, Lori played both golf and tennis during her time at Troy State.

Lori was a woman whose kindness and compassion were matched by her determination and strong will. She had a heart for helping others and found great purpose in caring for those in need. Whether it was a neighbor, a friend, or someone in her community, Lori always seemed to find someone who could use a helping hand. Her willingness to serve others was a reflection of the love and generosity she carried throughout her life.

Her commitment to her community extended to her 15 years of dedicated service with Dixie Youth Baseball, where she generously gave her time and energy to supporting youth athletics. Lori believed in showing up for others, giving of herself, and making a difference in the lives of those around her.

Above all, Lori cherished her family. She shared 51 years of marriage with her husband, Dennis Koppersmith, and took great joy in being a mother to her two sons, Randy Steven Russell and Nathaniel Joseph Koppersmith. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandson, Ronin Samuel Russell. Her love for her family was steadfast, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Lori's faith in God was a guiding force throughout her life. Even in difficult seasons, she often reminded those around her that "God has a plan." Her favorite Scripture, 1 Peter 5:7, speaks to the trust she placed in the Lord:

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

Those words reflect the faith that sustained her and the compassion she so freely extended to others. Lori understood the importance of trusting God through life's uncertainties and demonstrated that faith through the way she lived and loved.

Lori is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dennis Koppersmith; her sons, Randy Steven Russell and Nathaniel Joseph Koppersmith; her daughter-in-law, Chelsey Hodge Koppersmith; her grandson, Ronin Samuel Russell; and six siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Comer and Corene Wiggins, and three siblings.

While her absence will be deeply felt, Lori's legacy lives on through the family she loved, the lives she touched, and the countless acts of kindness she shared. Her life serves as a reminder of the power of faith, the importance of family, and the lasting impact of a compassionate heart.
