Lorrie Whitney Cadwell, Jr.

Lorrie Whitney Cadwell, Jr. was born on November 18, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, and peacefully departed this world on August 10, 2026. The loss of Whitney is deeply felt by those who knew and loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy defined by dedication, integrity, and boundless love for his family, friends, and community.

A proud alumnus of Fairhope High School’s class of 1964, Whitney was a lifelong resident of Alabama whose roots ran deep in the place he called home. His commitment to hard work began early, blossoming into a distinguished career as an electrician. He was the owner of Whitney Cadwell Electric Inc. and worked in the trade for over fifty years. Whitney was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, respected as both a great leader and mentor within his profession. His wisdom and guidance helped shape and inspire countless colleagues across the decades.

Whitney's country called, and he answered with pride, serving in the United States Navy as a serviceman aboard the USS Trumpetfish. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, a reflection of his courage and steadfast sense of duty. Later in life, his ties to service and fellowship continued: Whitney was a devoted member of the Fairhope Elks Lodge for 59 years and was honored to belong to the Fairhope American Legion, remaining closely connected with his fellow veterans.

Outside of work and service, Whitney embraced life’s joys with vigor and enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer and enthusiastic motorcycle rider, always game for the camaraderie found on the green or the open road. Saturdays in autumn found him cheering passionately for Alabama football, a tradition that brought together family and friends in celebration.

Yet, perhaps Whitney’s greatest accomplishment was the love he gave and received. To his family, he was the steady center—a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. His integrity, devotion, and humility were constants in the lives of those lucky enough to call him family. He is survived by his treasured wife, Lisa Clemens Cadwell, who shared with him countless years of partnership and affection. Whitney’s children— Susan Atkins (David), Daniel Dendy (Laura), Brooks Anacker (Griscelle), Whitney Cadwell III, Eli Cadwell (Alexis) and Elijah Cadwell (Abigayle)—carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and resilience.

Whitney was a god-fearing man, known as much for his unshakable faith as for his character. Friends and acquaintances remember him as an unbelievably hardworking individual, someone who exemplified leadership through action and kindness. His presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and his unwavering sense of right and wrong made him a role model to so many.

To honor and celebrate Whitney’s remarkable life, visitation will be held on August 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fairhope Chapel, located at 19698 S Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL. A graveside service will follow on August 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL.

In the hearts of those who knew him, Lorrie Whitney Cadwell, Jr.’s memory will forever echo as a testament to a life well-lived—full of purpose, generosity, and love.
