Lucy Jean Mitchell, known to many most of her life as Jean, was born in Olive Hill Kentucky to Arthur and Meade Davis.

For those who knew her she was compassionate, straightforward, and not afraid to tell you what she thought. For those who didn't know her, Tom, her son was quick to tell you all about her.

At 99 she was the matriarch of the family. She was a mother not only to her own children but to all her nieces, nephews and grandchildren who looked up to her for love and guidance.

She married Thomas Gene Mitchell on August 14, 1954 in Dayton Ohio, the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Meade Davis, her husband Thomas Gene Mitchell, brothers Donald (Don) Davis, Paul Davis and Arthur Nathaniel (Nate) Davis.

She is survived by her remaining brother Theodore Davis of Dayton Ohio.

She was survived by her children Karen Jean (Richard) Esterline, Thomas Greg Mitchell, Granddaughter Paula (Danny) Belcher, Great Grand Daughter and Great Great Grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

To family and friends her, wittiness, dry humor and “tell it like it is” attitude will be missed. The look, anticipation for that next line was usually worth the wait, when it happened there wasn't a dry eye in the house from laughing so hard.

She will not be forgotten.
