Marguerite Hearn Batley

DAPHNE, ALABAMA

Marguerite Hearn Batley, age 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

She was born in York, Alabama to the late Charlie and Laura Land Hearn.

Marguerite was a founding member of Old Spanish Fort Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary under two different pastors. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and spoke of her love and his many blessings often. The ladies in her Sunday School were near and dear to her. She was a member of Eastern Star and Amaranth for most of her long life, serving in various capacities. Her employment career was varied with many positions in various fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie, and Laura Hearn; husband, George A. Batley, Jr; and a sister, Billie Simison.

She is survived by two son, Andy Batley and Jeffrey Charles Batley. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Christy Brady and Jennifer Batley, and great grandchildren, Jesse Batley, Brian Marshall, Chyna Brady and Emma Brady, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00pm.

The family will receive friends one hour to service time. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope
