Marilyn Kay Flinn Owens departed this life February 19th, 2026. She lived with her husband, David Owens, and their son Joseph Owens in Fairhope, AL.

Rob and Inez Flinn gave birth to Marilyn on April 11th, 1948. The Flinns and their parents before them were members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL. Marilyn was baptized into that church as a baby, then as a adult served two terms as Senior Warden of the Vestry.

Professionally, Marilyn was a social worker. She worked 25 years for the department of Human Resources in Montgomery, AL. She developed a policy for the protection of adults who were abused, neglected or exploited. She also supervised a unit of social workers who investigated such cases. After she retired from Human Resources, she was employed with Villa Hope Adoption Agency. In that role, she did home studies and counseling for families applying to adopt a child. Marilyn also escorted and supervised a group of adoptive parents overseas to China, who wished to adopt children.

Marilyn's greatest love was for her family and friends. In return, Marilyn was much loved by both. She is already greatly missed. Those who want to send a token of remembrance for Marilyn may send a financial gift to All Saints Episcopal Church, 151 South Ann St, Mobile, AL 36604.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be held on March 7th, 2026, at 11am at All Saints Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL.

Following the service, interment of the cremated remains will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church cemetery, which is located at the back of the church.
