Marilynn Kachin Meyer, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at her home in Fairhope, Alabama, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Marilynn pursued her education at Massey-Draughon Business College in Montgomery, Alabama, where she later made her home and nurtured her lifelong passion for music. A gifted baritone saxophonist, she began playing in college and continued sharing her talent throughout her life. Marilynn played with the Montgomery Recreators and several other local bands, bringing joy to countless people through her music.
Marilynn is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Meyer; her children, Paul Morrow (Pam), Robert Morrow (Shelli), John Morrow (Pam), and Janet Morrow Bozeman (Paul); her siblings, Jon Kachin, Ivan Kachin (Betty), Gail Kachin Boyd, and Kim Kachin Spragg (Mark); her beloved grandchildren, Alex Morrow (Rachel), Ryan Morrow, Jordan Chappell, Jarrett Chappell, Trey Bozeman, Gavin Morrow, Justin Morrow, Lily Morrow, and Hannah Morrow; and two great grandchildren, Abigail Morrow and Luke Morrow.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Marilynn’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
