Marina V. Striggles

Marina Vreteas Striggles passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Daphne. She was born in Greece and moved to the United States at age 18. She was the first exchange student from Greece at the University of Alabama where she earned a B.S. and a Master Degree in Chemistry. She and her husband Ted moved to Malbis, Alabama after retirement, where she became an active member of the Mobile Opera Guild and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Mobile, Al. Marina was also a supporter of the Mobile Symphony. She is pre-deceased by her husband Ted Striggles and their son Phillip Striggles. Marina leaves behind two sisters Gilda Vreteas Kornhauser and Evangelia Pravlou. Services will be held at Malbis Plantation Greek Orthodox Church in Daphne on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Malbis Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Mobile Opera Guild and Malbis Greek Orthodox Church.
