Mark Anthony Hellmich

Mark Anthony Hellmich, a/k/a Frank, born February 23, 1959, a native of Foley, passed away on November 2, 2026, at the age of 67.

Mark dedicated over 46 years of his life to his craft as an Auto Body Technician, retiring from Freeman Collision (Davco) after a long and faithful career. He was a devoted fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football and NASCAR Racing, and he found great joy in classic television shows on MeTV. Above all, Mark cherished spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter and good times. He also enjoyed relaxing by the pool alongside his beloved dog, Jack.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Hellmich, Sr.; brothers Joe Hellmich, Jr. and Tim Hellmich; son Bryan Reed; nephew Joel Steigerwald; and niece Xanny Hellmich Emke.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Kaye) Marshall Hellmich; his mother, Georgia Daniels Hellmich; stepmother, Esther Hellmich; sister, Sue Hellmich Steigerwald; brother, Dan (Meg) Hellmich; granddaughter, Ally Reed; aunt, Mildred Daniels Runyan; and many adoring cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members who will dearly miss his presence.

Services will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, on Monday, November 9, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning promptly at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Organization (alz.org) to support ongoing research and efforts to combat this disease.

Mark’s warmth, humor, and dedication to those he loved will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
