Mary E. Hamilton

Mary Elizabeth Hamilton (1947-2025) passed away on June 27, with her husband by her bedside. Mary leaves behind William (Bill) Hamilton her husband, friend and caregiver of 58 years. Mary was born August 30, 1947, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Samuel and Josephine Mulrine. She was their only child.

Mary met Bill in 1967 and they were wed in on February 28, 1970. They had no children. They lived together in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, and for the last 27 years have resided in Alabama.

Mary, and her husband owned a farm for a number of years and raised beef cattle. She also managed and owned the Aquarium Center in Calhoun, Georgia. Both she and her husband were employed in the carpet industry. When her husband accepted a position in a carpet company in Lower Alabama, they moved to Pensacola, Florida and she retired to become a homemaker. There they finally were able to achieve one of their dreams; acquiring their first boat, and several more as time went on. They were active in the area boating community, even as they moved to Alabama in the late 1990’s, where they made many wonderful friends.

Before her illness, Mary was a happy and joyful person, who loved life and tending to her plants and wild birds. She was a great homemaker and loved cats and dogs, keeping at least one of each in their home at all times.
