Mary Adaline Purvis, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away at home on September 13, 2026, at the age of 17. Born in Fairhope on November 10, 2008, Mary brought into the world a rare gentleness and a depth of feeling that touched all who knew her.

Mary was a tender soul who could not bear to see others in pain. She carried great compassion for the people around her, taking on the hurts of others without ever asking for anything in return. Those who loved her knew her as a deep and intuitive young woman whose beauty shone from the inside out. Quiet by nature, she was nevertheless passionate in love, wise beyond her years, and unforgettable in the grace with which she moved through life.

She was a high school junior who was homeschooled, and she filled her days with gifts that reflected both creativity and care. Mary was a cook and a pianist, and in these simple, meaningful arts she expressed the warmth, sensitivity, and thoughtfulness that defined her. Her presence brought comfort, and her spirit left a lasting impression on her family and friends. To those who knew her best, she now shines as the brightest star in the sky.

Mary is survived by her mother, Angie Purvis; her father, Christopher Purvis; and her sisters, Maddi Purvis and Maddison Purvis. She is also lovingly remembered by her girlfriend, Annabelle Chambliss. Her memory will be cherished by her paternal grandparents, David and Cathy Purvis; her paternal great-grandparents, Bill and Betty Purvis; and her maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Campbell. She is further survived by her uncle Michael Ramos, his wife, Laura Ramos, and their children; her aunt Kathleen McCurdy, her husband, Alex McCurdy, and their children; her aunt Bj Ashworth; and her aunts Ann Miles and Theresa Miles. Each of them carries forward the love Mary gave so freely, and each will hold her close in heart and memory.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Billy Joe Ashworth Jr., who passed the day after Mary and is now with her.

Mary Adaline Purvis will be missed greatly and remembered always with love. Her life, though brief, was radiant with compassion, quiet strength, and heartfelt devotion to others. In the lives she touched, her light remains.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne, Al. from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
