Maxine Granade McKleroy

Obituary

Maxine Granade McKleroy passed away on July 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family and community.

Born on May 19, 1934, in Washington County, Alabama, to Rosa Lee Granade and Samuel Parker Granade, Maxine grew up in Frankville, Alabama. After marrying, she and her family lived in Jackson, Alabama, until moving to Florida in 1972. She spent many years along the Gulf Coast, working as a realtor in Fort Walton Beach during the 1980s before settling in Daphne, Alabama, in 1985. In the 1990s, she returned to real estate in Daphne, where she worked until her retirement.

Maxine was the devoted mother of Susan, David, Andy, and Chris and the cherished “Gammy” to her grandchildren, Ashley and Drew; Michael and Katie; and Sam and Daniel. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: River, Dylan, Harry, Archer, and Luella.

A woman of deep faith, Maxine dedicated much of her time to serving others through her church and her years of volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time at the beach, tending to her garden, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Maxine will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of Maxine’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
