Melissa Lynn Repka

Melissa Lynn Repka, age 52, passed away on August 18, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. Melissa courageously fought a battle with cancer that ultimately led her into the arms of the Lord. 

She was born April 22, 1972, in Heidelberg, Germany and raised by her loving mother and father, Linda and Sammy Campbell, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She graduated from Jackson High School while residing in Slaughter, Louisiana. Melissa would say that her greatest accomplishment was being a wife and mother to her two sons. Melissa was happily married to her husband of 30 years, Bobby Repka, who she loved unconditionally. 

Melissa is survived by her parents, Linda and Sammy Campbell; husband, Bobby Repka; children, Taylor (Jamie) Repka and Thomas (Alexis) Repka; brothers, Steven (Mamie) Ryan and Glenn (Rachel) Campbell; sister, Brandie (Lance) Ezell; two grandchildren, Hayden and Cameron Repka; and numerous others who loved her. 

Melissa enjoyed spending days in her garden surrounded by birds, butterflies, and her flowers. She was an avid reader and particularly loved reading classic novels. However, there is nothing she loved more than spending time with her close family and friends. She took pride in making her home openly available for anyone and everyone. She was an extraordinary mother and treated all children as her own. Melissa’s favorite holiday was Christmas and her spirit truly embodied so much joy, hope, and peace. She was incredibly strong and fought extremely hard for those she loved most. 

Melissa loved the Lord and exemplified His love for us in the way she treated others every day. Nothing will be able to emulate the light that she brought into this world. We will always keep her in our hearts as we remember her daily. 

A visitation will be held at Wolfe-Bayview in Fairhope on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 4:30pm.
