It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Melvin Joseph “Joe” Klumpp, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 81.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Melvin Joseph “Joe” Klumpp, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 81.

He was born and raised in Point Clear, Alabama, March 30, 1944. He grew up in the Point Clear area on his family farm and worked as a teen in his family grocery store, Klumpp’s Grocery. He was a graduate of Fairhope High School in 1962 and married his high school sweetheart Judy that December. They were married 62 years. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Melvin and Claire Welch Klumpp.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Klumpp of Fairhope; sons, Andrew Klumpp, daughter-in-law Lori, of Prospect, KY and Drew Klumpp of Denver, CO, daughters, Julie Bray, son-in-law, Donnie, of Fairhope, Lisa Hill, son-in-law Tye of Daphne; Grandchildren, Benjamin Griffeth, Blake Griffeth, Evan Klumpp, Joseph Klumpp, Claire Klumpp, Madison Hill, Hayden Hill, Brad Bray, Chanda Lynch. Great grandchildren, SadieGrace, Delilah, Ezra, Josie, Olivia and Briggs. Many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at South River Park Church at 12:00PM, visitation will begin at 10:00AM.

Graveside service will follow at Confederate Rest Cemetery.
