Mildred "Mickey" Griffeth

It is with sorrow and hope that we announce the passing of Mickey Nelson Griffeth, who went to see our Lord on Dec. 31, 2025, at the age of 84. She passed peacefully at home.

Mickey was born on August 29, 1941, and was raised in Bon Secour, AL. Her family roots go back to the mid 1800’s here in Baldwin County. She came from a fishing, shrimping, and boat building family. She was the loving spouse of Jack Griffeth. Together, they were married for 66 years.

Mickey was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her two children-Frank(Janet) and Kent(Sallie)-along with 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, were the most important things in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Nelson and Mary Plash Nelson, as well as a sister(Betty Robinson).

Mickey was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Fairhope, AL. Where she sang in the choir and served in various roles for almost 60 years.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Fairhope, AL at 1pm on January 3, 2026 followed by a service at 2pm. Internment will be at Oyster Bay Baptist Church cemetery with a graveside service at 4pm.
