Ola Joyce Beckman, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at The Retreat at SAAD hospice in Mobile, Alabama. Born on November 17,1933, Ola lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by her unwavering love for family and deep connections to those around her.
She is survived by her three cherished daughters: Cecilia Luna, Eva Ristow, and Ava Nitschke, each of whom carries forward the values and love that Ola instilled in them. Her sons-in-law, Mike Luna, Erik Ristow, and Rick Nitschke, were not just family but held a special place in her heart. Ola's legacy continues through her loving grandchildren: Jessica Johnson, who brought her immense joy, and Jonathan Luna, along with her grandson-in-law, Bill Johnson. Adding to this legacy are her great-grandchildren, including little Thomas Johnson, who will forever remember the warmth of their great-grandmother's embrace.
Ola was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas J. Beckman, who had been her partner through life's many adventures. She also mourned the loss of her great-grandson, Dillon Luna Ewald. Her parents, Ola and Hessie Bishop, and her sisters, Elizabeth Lones and Christine Lones, have welcomed her into eternal rest.
Throughout her life, Ola was known for her warmth, kindness, and the strength of her spirit. Her family will remember her not just for the love she gave but for the extraordinary life she led. As they gather to celebrate her life, they carry with them the memories that she has left behind—a tapestry of love woven through generations.
Ola Joyce Beckman will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
