Patricia R. Earle, known affectionately as Pat, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, after a long and full life. She was 86 years old.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 16, 1940, Pat eventually moved to Birmingham, Alabama, as a young girl, following her father’s (William – Thelma) career in radio station sales. She grew up in the Birmingham area and attended Shades Valley High School. Following graduation, she attended Auburn University for a year before embarking on a beautiful new chapter of her life.

She married Charles Earle Jr., and proudly spent four years as an Army wife stationed in Germany. Upon returning to the States, Pat and Charlie eventually settled on the Eastern Shore, where they built a life and raised a family.

Pat was a woman of deep warmth, grace, and community spirit. She spent many years dedicated to the Bayside Academy community, always taking care of the children at Bayside with a mother’s heart – she lived right next door. Pat was a loving mother, a devoted friend, and a faithful child of God. She found immense joy in cooking and entertaining those she loved, and she had a passion for gardening, finding immense peace and beauty among her flowers.

In keeping with her giving nature and desire to help others, Pat generously donated her body to science. Dementia was her undoing. Let us hope her donation can somehow help find a cure.

Pat is survived by her children, Charles III (Pam) and Adrienne Wood (Hoss), brother Pete (Caroline), nephews Jeff (Anna, Skylar, Sadie Lee, Pax) and Hunter (Jennifer, Hayes). Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and hospitality that will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and the community she served so faithfully.

A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. James Episcopal Church, located at 860 N. Section St, Fairhope, Al. 36532

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Pat’s memory to The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter, an organization dedicated to the care of animals that reflected Pat’s compassionate spirit.
