Patricia June Witter Corporaal, age 92 of Gulf Shores, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2025. She was the wife of Rev. Richard Corporaal for 55 years.
She was born in Park Rapids, MN in the summer of 1933. She was the 6th of 7 children. Her parents were Robert and Etta Witter.
Pat is survived by her four children, Daniel (Mindy) Corporaal, Douglas Corporaal, David Corporaal and Diane (David) Guetterman, numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The children describe her as loving, kind and selfless.
Pat and her husband, Richard, devoted themselves to the ministry of Jesus Christ. Pat had a beautiful soprano voice. Along with Richard, they could be heard singing duets on Sunday mornings in church. Nobody appreciated her singing more than her children. She sang at weddings, funerals and other events. At home she loved to sing the songs she grew up with like: "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy…"
She loved writing poems and stories. She kept a detailed journal of the events of her children's lives and wrote a collection of short stories about family life.
Some of her children's fond memories of her include: sitting on the roof at night with family while gazing at the stars, telling stories of her childhood, recounting stories of her children's adventures and reliving memories of eventful house remodeling projects.
She was a gypsy at heart. Later in life she admitted to pushing her husband, Richard, to move the family as many times as they did. It was those moves that created in her kids a sense of adventure and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
She had a witty personality and was often compared to her favorite comedian Lucille Ball of "I Love Lucy."
She will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved her.
